The Quesibirria tacos are unbelievable! The queso and sauces are also fantastic. In a town full of good Mexican restaurants this place is in another league. Highly recommend.

I was a little skeptical at first because they were not open and ready at 9:05am, but I am so glad I stayed for a meal. The cheesy breakfast plantains and chilaquiles were just perfect (especially the red sauce and the refried black beans). Portions were fabulous, too! Definitely not the kind of place you'll leave hungry.

Two years ago, I wrote that Mi Pueblito Grill provides outstanding Oaxacan cuisine in a rather lackluster structure. Now, I have to share how incredibly impressed I am with their recent transformations, especially the hugely enlarged menu. What stays the same is that their preparations remain better than any of the meals I had while growing up in ELA, and in every other Mexican restaurant I have visited in the US. The new decor warms up the atmosphere a bit. The chairs and tables remain plain and the place settings are functional and far from fancy. But it is the elegance of their meals that compels returning often. They’ve always had fantastic food, and their new menu is full of new offerings showcasing the deep and complex flavors of Oaxacan cuisine. At my last visit I wanted to see what they do with the pervasive dish carnitas. Carnitas is served in nearly every Mexican household and eatery, and I was curious about what it would be like in the hands of Oaxacan chefs. Their offering was absolutely spectacular -- rich, ample, and surprisingly served with nopales. What Mi Pueblito does is not done anywhere else in the area. The owners have invested so much heart and hard work into their restaurant, and it has paid off beautifully. They've taken an out of way spot and elevated it into a must-visit destination for both novel choices, as well as the typical Mexican restaurant fare. I will be back very soon to explore more of the new menu! Harrisonburg is lucky to have them.

Rarely do I leave reviews but Mi Pueblito has become one of my favorite places to eat in the harrisonburg area. The chilaquiles and barbacoa have become comfort foods for me. The whole place is lovingly put together and quiet. Truly feels like being invited into someones home. The portions are big and filling. You will NOT leave unsatisfied. I have been coming in this restaurant for several years on an annual trip and Everytime the food is so delicious. And the people who run the shop are so friendly. I had the Birria tacos this time and I was just in heaven. Thank you so much. I'll be sure to return again next year.

The sopes are amazing! Great place for a family get together, also most of the dishes are way more authentic than other places in Harrisonburg. Overall it’s always a great experience.

Solid local Mexican restaurant. Shrimp taco ($5) was very good. Chicken taco ($2.50) was very dry. Burrito ($9) was solid as well. Only a few tables had sauces on them, so be sure to ask for the sauces. All of the food is prepared fresh, and I had to wait ~8min for mine. 4 tables for sitting outside.
